This interesting a 3,500-square-foot multilevel home was built in 1975 by Ian Morrison, who took inspiration for the design from Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings.” The house is set a top a hill in Barbados, which is an independent continental island in the western Atlantic Ocean. There are distant views of ocean and mature trees, a patio, a pool and a gazebo sheltering a bathtub.
The property is in St. Joseph, a parish that extends from the center of the island to the eastern coast. Shopping, nightlife and public beaches are a 25-minute drive away in Holetown. The airport is about an hour’s drive.
