Bengali Wedding by Deezden
A set of two paintings. The theme is inspired by a traditional wedding ritual from Bengal (an East Indian state). The fish is an auspicious symbol and sign of fertility in the Bengali culture.
The story
On the day of the ceremony, the groom's parents prepare the trousseau at their son's wedding. Maa carries the (celebrated and carefully decorated! )fish which brings in luck for the bride and groom. Baba is meticulously attending to every single detail, making sure everything is in order.
